Stigma is a feature of HIV and interviews with patients have shown that such discrimination has an impact on their lives. There are some people in our society who have wrong and mythical thoughts about HIV positive patients. Below are some examples of such misconceptions:

1. AIDS is the end of a person's life. This kind of thinking in society forces a patient to think that his life is worthless.

2. Women with AIDS can never conceive.

3. The child born to a woman infected with AIDS is also infected with AIDS.

4. Again, many people think that if a person infected with AIDS takes the right medicine, the disease will not spread.

5. According to many, mosquitoes spread AIDS. Because mosquitoes absorb human blood and HIV is in the blood.

Because of the misconceptions of some of these people, people with AIDS are deprived of their rights. They are not able to lead a normal life. People always stay away from them. In this they accept discrimination.

According to such correct and scientific thinking

1. Life is long and productive if a person with AIDS takes proper medication and consults a doctor.

2. Women with AIDS must be able to conceive on the advice of a doctor.

3. If a woman with AIDS adopts and gives birth with proper advice, the child will not be HIV positive. In this case, the child may have to take medicine even after birth.

4. If you take medicine regularly, the level of virus in your blood will decrease, but you will not be able to get rid of the virus at once.

5. Mosquitoes do not spread AIDS.

Only such normal thinking can eliminate the effects of discrimination in the lives of HIV-positive patients. We need to have a tolerant attitude and thinking towards HIV patients. So we need to acquire scientific and accurate knowledge. The impact of discrimination in their lives will gradually decrease.
